Paul Pogba's attempt to rebuild his career has hit a severe roadblock after the midfielder suffered a fresh thigh injury during AS Monaco's pre-season training camp at St George's Park in England. The 33-year-old World Cup winner pulled up in pain during Tuesday's session, shortly after returning to group training following an extended layoff due to right knee problems.
The timing is particularly costly for Pogba, who managed just 45 minutes of action during Monaco's entire pre-season. Since signing for the Principality club in July 2025 following an 18-month suspension for a doping violation, the former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder has struggled continuously to build match fitness. Last season, he made just six Ligue 1 appearances, accumulating 115 minutes on the pitch.
With the new domestic season fast approaching, club decision-makers and coaching staff are growing increasingly skeptical about his ability to stay fit. Reports suggest Monaco hierarchy had already harbored concerns over his long-term viability, with discussions surrounding a potential contract termination surfacing following this latest setback. Without a clear timeline for his recovery, Pogba's future at Monaco now hangs by a thread.
