Homegrown biscuit giant Parle Products has secured its position as India’s most chosen in-home fast-moving consumer goods brand for the fourteenth consecutive year, while bakery titan Britannia Industries continues to lead the out-of-home rankings, according to the Brand Footprint India 2026 report published by Worldpanel by Numerator.
The annual industry study evaluates fast-moving consumer goods performance across domestic markets using Consumer Reach Points, a comprehensive metric calculating household penetration alongside annual repeat purchase frequency. Total consumer choices across the country grew five point one percent to hit 129 billion Consumer Reach Points in 2025, driven by expanding retail distribution networks, sustained rural demand, and high purchase frequency across essential food and personal care categories.
In the in-home consumption segment, Parle Products topped the rankings with 8,515 million Consumer Reach Points, closely followed by Britannia Industries at 8,296 million and dairy leader Amul at 6,922 million. Unilever personal care brands Clinic Plus and Surf Excel completed the top five in-home positions.
Meanwhile, regional snack manufacturer Balaji Wafers marked a significant milestone by entering the top ten in-home rankings for the first time, landing in ninth place with 2,876 million points. In the out-of-home category, Britannia retained its market leadership, with Balaji Wafers, Haldiram’s, Cadbury, and Amul rounding out the top five positions, underscoring the dominance of impulse snack and beverage options among mobile consumers.
Market research analysts noted that while large, highly penetrated consumer brands achieved steady growth in Consumer Reach Points, smaller manufacturers face growing friction turning product visibility into consistent, repeat purchases.
Emerging trends highlighted rapid volume expansion for direct-to-consumer digital brands, regional spice makers, and fast-growing beverage players like Reliance Consumer’s Campa, which recorded notable increases in household adoption. Overall, the 2026 rankings demonstrate that domestic food and personal care majors with deeply entrenched, affordable distribution networks maintain a strong advantage in capturing repeat household spending across urban and rural consumer markets.
