Indian stock markets still have plenty of steam left heading into the second half of the year, with the Nifty 50 comfortably poised to clock another 7 to 8 percent gain by year end, according to seasoned market analyst Vinit Bolinjkar. A steady river of retail domestic money, solid underlying economic numbers, and clean corporate balance sheets continue to buffer local equities from erratic global cues.
That said, Bolinjkar made it clear that this won't be a blind bull run where every stock floats upward. Making solid returns from here will come down to careful stock picking rather than riding broad index momentum, as a few older legacy sectors are hitting clear growth roadblocks. His biggest warning is aimed straight at traditional IT heavyweights,
where he suggests investors keep their exposure strictly in check. Large tech outsourcers are still wrestling with sluggish client budgets in the US and Europe, softer billing rates, and a messy pivot toward AI that isn't turning into fast profits just yet.
Rather than parking fresh capital in legacy tech names and waiting out an uncertain recovery, he advises shifting weight into domestic cyclicals. Plays tied to capital goods, manufacturing, infrastructure spending, and top private banks look far better placed to ride India's ongoing capex push and steady consumer demand.
