A lighthearted moment between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Commonwealth Games silver medalist Narender Berwal has quickly sparked widespread attention online, drawing a spirited reaction from Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. Recounting the incident, Berwal explained that after defeating his opponent at the World Military Games, both fighters ended up side by side in the medical room receiving treatment for minor head cuts. While waiting, the Pakistani boxer remarked that his opponent was named Narender, his coach was also named Narender, and India’s Prime Minister shared the exact same name, humorously confessing that he had developed a deep dislike for the name Narendra altogether.
