The National Investigation Agency made a major breakthrough in the deadly April 7 Improvised Explosive Device attack in Manipur by apprehending key suspect S. Palal Thadou.
The terror incident unfolded in Moirang’s Tronglaobi Awang Leikai when militants launched an explosive projectile from nearby hills toward a residential neighborhood.
Following initial enforcement actions by the Assam Rifles, Churachandpur Police, and Bishnupur Police, the National Investigation Agency took over the case and formally re-registered it on April 23 to expose the broader conspiracy.
Federal prosecutors subsequently secured ten-day custody of Thadou from a special court in Imphal to question him regarding the operational links, terror funding channels, and overall planning behind the bombing.
